3a. demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations.
I demonstrated fluency in technology systems by using Inspiration 8 to develop my concept map. My map shows how I have connected the various themes of technology and teaching that I have studied in this degree program. I've also shown my developing technology skills by creating and updating my class website. Several of my new skills are illustrated on my Assignments Page from my Introduction to Web Development class.

3b. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation.
I have begun putting assignment information on my class website to make the information available to parents and students. I've learned about the value of collaboration through the online collaboration I've experienced in this program, and I am planning to include online collaborative projects like the projects at Global Schoolnet in my curriculum.

I collaborated with my technology team members as we completed the E2T2 grant training and developed a technology plan for our district. The training I received during this grant has had a major impact on my teaching style. Combined with what I've learned in this degree program, the training has encouraged me to include technology as a basic part of my curriculum, and to make my classroom more student centered instead of teacher centered.

3c. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats.

I believe my classroom management is vastly improved through the technology I use, from word processing to excel tables. My charts, word lists, study guides, class lists, etc. are clearer and more effective because I made them on the computer. My students benefit from having clear and easily understood papers to reinforce a lesson instead of having to interpret my handwritten notes. While using technology for classroom management is not as “showy” as student projects, it is a valuable use of technology.

I continually add information and links to my class website so that students and parents have access to the information. I also created a "Wee Deliver" web site to encourage students to participate in the program and to make the information available to parents so they could also participate.

3d. model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning.
I use the websites Dates That Matter and This Day in History as class starters. These sites give the students something to think about while I take attendance, and the topics lead to interesting discussions on real world events. I've also started uploading my tests to the Senteo system so that students can use our Clickers on tests. This allows the students to have immediate feedback when they finish a test. Along with my peers, I created an engaged learning lesson plan rubric to help evaluate lessons. We also worked together to develop a Data Discussion rubric to help students evaluate information.
