Basic web design and HTML. Covers file transfer and UNIX/LINUX servers management. Develops understanding of web graphic formats. Emphasizes user interface, navigation, and instructional design in building web sites. (Mizzou Direct Course Catalog)

Introduction to Web Development was one of the most difficult classes I had, but it was also one of the most rewarding. I found learning HTML to be fun even though it was very challenging. I like the idea that using HTML gives me a lot of control over the look of my page, and I think you can be more creative and have a more unique page if you know how to use HTML. However,I also found HTML to be difficult in that a minor error can have a major impact on your page. HTML is so very touchy....an extra space or misplaced mark can really mess you up.

I think knowing a little HTML will empower me to have more control over my web page, and let me try some things I might not be able to try if I depended completely on a web editor.

HTML can be very frustrating, but it can also be very rewarding.
