The 7th grade Social Studies course
covers United States history from prehistoric times through the American Civil War. Students will use maps, charts, primary
sources and textbook readings to study the political, economic and social events that have shaped the United States. This
course also includes the study of the U.S. constitution. Students must pass the U.S. constitution test in order to graduate
from Junior High school. Course goals are aligned with the following Illinois standards:
