Principles of assessment in instructional process, emphasizes role of technology. Tools, strategies for data collection and management to guide instructional decision-making; aligning standards, learning activities, and assessments; assessment to measure higher-order thinking.
(Mizzou Direct Course Catalog)

In this class we investigated ways to use technology for assessment, and we also discussed the importance of accurate and usable assessment. I learned that I needed to do more individual assessment so I can tailor lessons to student's needs. I've begun doing more pretesting and surveying of students as I begin units of study. I've also put most of my tests in my Senteo system so that we can use our Clickers for each test. This allows the students to have instant feedback-as soon as they finish the test, they know their score and they can look at the questions they missed.

I also helped get Study Island for our district, and I am able to use the individualized reports to see what progress my students are making and what areas they need to work on improving.
